The Mill Road Collective is a community for fellow filmmakers, producers, creatives and storytellers who believe in the power of content to make a positive difference to society and the wider world.
We hold Q&As and events with fellow storytellers on how they have been able to ‘cut through the noise’, reach audiences effectively and make a difference through their work.
The collective brings people together who understand the power of film and have a similar desire to use their skills and enthusiasm for positive change in the world. It enables compassionate creatives to make the right sort of connections within our industry and fuels our belief that profit and purpose can go hand in hand.

Dom’s latest title, Ten Dollar Death Trip: Inside The Fentanyl Crisis is currently available on Netflix and his 2020 his Australian film, Half A Million Steps, triggered a AUD $305 million dollar funding pledge into treatment and harm reduction by the New South Wales government.
Humanitarian crises, conflict zones, public health and societal issues are recurring themes that thread through his films. His work has led to extensive research in the areas of addiction, drug policy and mental health; areas that he is considered to now be a leading journalistic voice.
Mill Road Collective X Shape History / Amnesty International UK
Zoë Dawson is Shape History's Associate Creative Director where she was behind 'Before Our Eyes' for Amnesty International UK.
Human rights in the UK are deteriorating. Millions of people are struggling to access basic needs like safe housing, food and healthcare – and they are dying as a result. To get the British public to tune in, Shape History launched a trailer for a new gritty British drama starring Olivia Colman and Adrian Lester. Shown in cinemas across the country, they got the audience hooked on a harrowing tale about a young mother's fight for justice after her daughter's death in their temporary accommodation.
Using the pretence of a drama as a conduit to a very real issue, this is impact creativity at its very best.
